Goldfarb Branham, LLP Investigating Weatherford For Shareholders Due To Widening U.S. Government Probe

Goldfarb Branham, LLP, a litigation law firm, is investigating Weatherford (NYSE: WFT) for shareholders who purchased or acquired stock during or before 2006. Weatherford has been investigated by the U.S. Government for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for years. Recently, the government widened its investigation into the company because of allegations that it was doing business with countries designated as state sponsors of terror. Concerned shareholders are urged to contact attorney Hamilton Lindley at 877-583-2855 or hlindley@goldfarbbranham.com.

“Amid the government probe, Weatherford relocated its headquarters from Houston to Switzerland. Then, its co-general counsel resigned from the company and was replaced by a former government prosecutor who apparently specialized in FCPA enforcement,” stated lawyer Hamilton Lindley. Corporate Counsel reported that the government probe was looking into possible violations of the FCPA stemming from the misuse of $175,000 at a European subsidiary for alleged bribes and the sales of services and products “in certain sanctioned countries,” and the company’s participation in the oil-for-food program.

Goldfarb Branham, LLP is investigating a derivative lawsuit against company executives for allowing this scheme to occur. Derivative lawsuits often lead to restored confidence in companies involved in financial scandal and a resulting increase in shareholder value. Concerned shareholders are urged to contact attorney Hamilton Lindley at 877-583-2855 or hlindley@goldfarbbranham.com.
