Live U.S. Open Blog: Action at Pebble Beach

Today, TheStreet covers the action at Pebble Beach, with minute-by-minute coverage of the first round of The U.S. Open, including shot-by-shot coverage of the entire round of Tiger Woods.

PEBBLE BEACH, Ca. (TheStreet) -- Look, we understand the problem: It's Thursday. The markets are open until 4:00. You are, ostensibly, supposed to be caring about your credit default swaps, your Blockbuster(BBI) shares, and that massive and rather unfortunate long position you took on BP(BP) stock three months ago.

But today also brings the first round of the U.S. Open -- and not just any U.S. Open. This is the U.S. Open from Pebble Beach, the scene of Tiger Woods' ridiculous 15-stroke victory in 2000, those halcyon days when Woods was better known for the quality of his six-irons than the quality of his sexting.

So kick up your feet, open a browser window to our live U.S. Open blog, and lie to yourself (and your boss!) that you're monitoring your market positions. It will be our little secret that you are not, in fact, tracking the position of BP, but rather the positions of K.J. (Choi), J.B. (Holmes) and Y.E. (Yang).

Besides, if something monumental does happen in the markets, we'll actually tell you right here. You think Jason Sobel's going to do that for you?
