RCM Technologies, Navarre: Early Volume Plays
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- RCM Technologies (RCMT) was among several stocks trading near $5 that are poised to move on above-average volume Friday after the company received an unsolicited acquisition offer.
RCM Technologies said it has received a proposal from CDI Corp. (CDI) to purchase all outstanding shares of RCM Technologies at $5.20 per share in cash, representing a 48.5% premium to Thursday's closing price of $3.50. RCM Technologies said its board of directors has determined that it would not be in the best interests of the enterprise business solutions company "to pursue the transaction as presently structured by CDI Corp." RCM Technologies jumped by $1.60, or 45.7%, to $5.10 in the premarket session. The 50-day average daily volume for RCM Technologies is a mere 24,000, according to the Nasdaq. Elsewhere, Navarre (NAVR) shares jumped by 27 cents, or 14.8%, to $2.10 in the premarket session after the multimedia products company posted a fourth-quarter adjusted profit of 7 cents a share on revenue of $138.3 million, coming in well ahead of the Thomson Reuters average estimate of 4 cents a share on sales of $120.6 million. Looking ahead, Navarre said it expects full-year revenue in a range of $480 million to $520 million, compared to the long analyst target of $531.3 million. The 50-day average daily volume for Navarre is 74,000. China Finance Online (JRJC) shares were also trading higher, up 77 cents, or 10.9%, to $7.85 in Thursday's after-hours session after the online financia data company said it ahd a first-quarter profit of 14 cents a share on revenue of $15.2 million, coming in ahead of the consensus target for earnings of 4 cents a share on revenue of $13.5 million. The 50-day average daily volume for China Finance Online is 54,000. Trubion Pharmaceuticals (TRBN) climbed by 26 cents, or 7.1%, to $3.94 in Thursday's late trading session after Board of Appeal for the European Patent Office upheld an original decision to revoke a European patent directed to the use of an anti-CD20 antibody for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis held by Genentech and Biogen Idec (BIIB).
