NACHC Renews Preferred Partner Agreement With Staff Care, Locum Tenens Staffing Firm
BETHESDA, Md., June 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) today announced it has renewed its preferred partnership agreement with Staff Care, a leading locum tenens firm that places doctors in all specialties and other healthcare professionals on a temporary basis with a variety of healthcare organizations. Staff Care, based in Dallas, is an AMN Healthcare company (NYSE: AHS).
NACHC first signed a locums preferred partnership agreement with Staff Care in 2006. The renewal enables Staff Care to further streamline and expedite the services it provides to NACHC affiliates, leading to quicker and broader access to care for health center patients. Staff Care will work directly with individual NACHC members to assist with locum physician placements in all medical specialties, including dentists, as well as allied healthcare professionals such as physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. "We are pleased to renew our preferred partnership with Staff Care," said Maurice Denis, NACHC's Membership & Marketing Associate Vice President. "Since first working with Staff Care in 2006, we've found that the firm is highly successful in placing locums in rural and underserved areas where our member facilities are located. Staff Care provides highly-qualified and cost-effective physician solutions to our members during this time of high patient demand. Health centers currently serve 20 million patients nationwide and dedicated primary care providers are critical to our mission," Denis added. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, it would take 16,643 additional practitioners to meet the need for primary care in health professional shortage areas (HPSAs) identified by the Department as of last September. The federal government also anticipates that the demand for primary care physicians will increase as much as 38% from 2000 to 2020. Staff Care is poised to help community health centers address this growing demand for services.TheStreet Premium Services
