Non-Profit Organization, Artists In The Kitchen, Selects Whitegate PR As Agency Of Record

NEW YORK, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Non–profit organization, Artists in the Kitchen selects boutique public relations firm Whitegate PR, as their agency of record for the HK: ArtiST (Hell's Kitchen Artist in Studio Tours) 2010. This free, self–guided tour will showcase artists and performers met in their homes, studios, galleries, theaters, gardens and businesses of Midtown West on Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 21–23 in Hell's Kitchen (between 34–59 Streets, & roughly from 8th Avenue Westward) in Manhattan. Parties held each night. Printed maps will be available at all event venues and available for online download ( artistsinthekitchen.org) where further details regarding the event and its artists are listed.

This 3–day event celebration will showcase the creativity of artists living and working in this dynamic and historic community of Hell's Kitchen in the heart of Manhattan. Full involvement is also open to artists and performers of all types from outside Midtown West, and local businesses are invited to be a part of the weekend by hosting art shows and/or performances, as well as sponsoring the event. Notable venues on board include Fountain Gallery; Jim Seffens Studio; Mud, Sweat and Tears; and apartment studios in the Manhattan Plaza buildings. Prominent sponsors include Holiday Inn & Roy Arias Studios & Theaters, The Times Square Art Center with five beautiful theaters & great modern facilities.

Whitegate PR is providing Artists in the Kitchen with event marketing and public relations support for the HK: ArtiST. The tour was created to expose and promote the work of local artists and create an event that recognizes the often ignored art scene right in the heart of New York City. The tour's other purpose is to show the connection between the storied history of Hell's Kitchen and the current creative expression: an area often dismissed as a mere adjunct to, and overlapping with, the business and theater districts.
