Archer Daniels Midland, Pfizer Are Active Movers
NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:
NYSE: Archer Daniels Midland Co., down $1.50 to $26.22 Global demand lifted the grain processor's quarterly profit to $421 million from just $3 million in the same period last year. A morning rally gave way to declines following a broader market plunge. Pfizer Inc., up 35 cents to $17.26 The world's biggest drugmaker posted a huge jump in first-quarter revenue thanks to its acquisition of Wyeth and said it will continue to boost its annual dividend. Interactive Data Corp., up 17 cents to $33.16 Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus are buying the financial information and analytical tools provider for $3.4 billion. AnnTaylor Stores Corp., up $2.11 to $24.76 The woman's clothing retailer raised its quarterly guidance on better-than-expected sales and a higher gross margins. LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., down $1.40 to $5.72 The weak global economy drove the educational toy maker to report a much steeper-than-expected loss for the first quarter. NASDAQ: Hologic Inc., down $2.10 to $16.01 Brean Murray cut its rating on shares of the mammogram systems maker on concerns that high unemployment will make patients delay seeking preventive care. Overstock.com Inc., up $4.15 to $23.88 The online discount retailer posted a surprise quarterly profit as revenue surged 42 percent. NutriSystem Inc., up $4.12 to $22.62 The diet products company reported better-than-expected quarterly results as it continued to sign up customers.TheStreet Premium Services
