(NYSE AMEX: DDD) today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued a notice of allowance for SCOLR's U.S. Patent Application No. 11/906,303 for a method of forming a tablet. Upon issuance, this patent will provide SCOLR with patent protection for the blending and tableting process currently utilized in their novel extended release ibuprofen formulation and analogous processes for other active pharmaceutical ingredients susceptible to tackiness. The USPTO also determined that the application is eligible for 323 days of Patent Term Adjustment, extending the duration of this patent once it formally issues in the coming months.
