LENCO MOBILE INC. Announces Connectivity With Wireless Carriers In The USA

Lenco Mobile Inc. (Pink Sheets:LNCM) today announced that it had successfully completed testing of its Multimedia Messaging (“MMS”) platform in the United States of America.

Michael Levinsohn, CEO and President of Lenco Mobile Inc., announced that the company had successfully tested the delivery of MMS messages to a wide range of mobile handsets in the United States, including Samsung, LG, Nokia, BlackBerry and iPhone handsets. “We have spent the last few months sending MMS messages via various wireless carriers and in a variety of formats including compressed 3GPP video format,” said Levinsohn.

Lenco Mobile is currently sending millions of MMS messages to mobile subscribers outside of the USA and the company believes that it will achieve high acceptance in the USA. Testing in the USA was carried out through a leading third party aggregator which provides connectivity to the major wireless carriers in the USA including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. Lenco Mobile’s leading edge MMS messaging platform is capable of sending up to 250 MMS messages per second. The company believes that this far exceeds the number of messages being sent by other commercially installed MMS messaging platforms.

During the announcement Levinsohn took time to point out that compliance with regulatory guidelines was of the utmost importance to the company. “We adhere to all of the various regulatory requirements necessary to send an MMS message to a mobile subscriber and we will only offer use of our platform to brand owners who have permission to market to their customers via a mobile phone. We do not and will not facilitate spam messages. Protecting both brand owners and subscribers is critical for us.”

Lenco Mobile’s MMS messaging platform enables a brand owner to send a MMS message in video format to the majority of mobile handsets in use today. The MMS messaging platform is installed and operational with leading wireless carriers in the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. Using the platform, a compressed MMS message of less than 300kb in size can be delivered to a mobile handset via the wireless carrier’s MMSC or Multimedia Messaging Switch Center. Each message can be tracked to see when it was opened and a URL, or Internet site link can be embedded into the MMS message so that a wireless subscriber can access the Internet directly from the MMS message.
