DynCorp International Recognized For Commitment To Veteran-Owned Businesses

For its continued commitment to working with veteran-owned businesses, DynCorp International (NYSE:DCP) has been recognized for the fourth year in a row by Vetrepreneur magazine as one of the United States’ 10 best corporations for veteran-owned businesses . Vetrepreneur is the official magazine of the National Veteran-Owned Business Association. The listing recognizes both efforts and results by companies in doing business with veteran-owned suppliers and contractors.

Vetrepreneur magazine’s April 2010 cover story notes that DynCorp International has been a perennial strong performer in its dedication to veterans, demonstrating an understanding that doing business with veterans is not just the right thing to do, it is also a smart business decision.

“Being named one of the 10 Best Corporations for Veteran-Owned Businesses for the fourth consecutive year means that our outreach efforts and results are noteworthy to the veteran community,” said DynCorp International small business manager Debbie Newberry. “For that we are extremely proud.”

DynCorp International arranged for 100 veteran-owned small businesses to attend free of charge the 13th Annual Government Procurement Conference, held in Arlington, TX in August 2009, supporting the Cross Timbers Procurement Center’s Veteran’s Initiative. Cross Timbers is a local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), which is partially funded by the Department of Defense. DI also participated as a sponsor at the National Veteran’s Conference last summer, and the Veteran's Summit held in March. In 2009, DI was successful in subcontracting over $277M to veteran-owned small businesses.

“DynCorp International is a leading provider of specialized solutions supporting U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives around the globe. We are honored to support the great men and women who serve our country,” said Bill Ballhaus, DynCorp International President and CEO. “Because veterans understand our customers and the environments in which we work, we make a special effort to support them. We respect and appreciate the service of our veterans and we are well served by veteran-owned businesses.”
