Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. Announces Financial Results For The Fiscal Quarter Ended February 28, 2010
Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. (DYII) today reported financial results for the second fiscal quarter ended February 28, 2010. For the fiscal quarter ended February 28, 2010, the Company had a net loss of $2.8 million, or $0.19 per share, compared to a net income of $290,000, or $0.02 per share for the fiscal quarter ended February 28, 2009.
The U.S. Division’s net patient service revenues decreased by $7.0 million, or 55%, from $12.8 million for the quarter ended February 28, 2009 to $5.8 million for the quarter ended February 28, 2010 primarily due to a decrease in the overall number of cases in the current period. The China Division’s net patient service revenues was $431,000 for the quarter ended February 28, 2010, with no such corresponding revenues in the prior period. The China Division began generating net patient service revenues in the third fiscal quarter of the prior year ended August 31, 2009. For the six months ended February 28, 2010, the Company had a net loss of $4.2 million, or $0.28 per share, compared to a net loss of $352,000, or $0.02 per share for the six months ended February 28, 2009. The U.S. Division’s net patient service revenues decreased by $9.5 million, or 40%, from $23.6 million for the six months ended February 28, 2009 to $14.1 million for the six months ended February 28, 2010. The China Division’s net patient service revenues was $1.0 million for the six months ended February 28, 2010, with no such corresponding revenues in the prior period. Dynacq Healthcare, Inc.
