MATECH Corp. Discusses How Over 90% Of Cracks In Bridges Are Missed During Visual Inspections According To Federal Studies
MATECH Corp. The most common method of bridge inspection is visual inspection, which relies on the subjective judgment of the inspector. Using this method 90% of fatigue cracks are missed, and 80% of identified “cracks” later prove to be false-positives, according to government reports.
