Press Releases
MIAMI, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cinergy Health, a leading health insurance agency, issued the following statement today:
"We view recent media reports about Cinergy Health as inaccurate, biased and unbalanced. The facts remain that Cinergy Health is fully compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations and we maintain active licensure in all 50 states and D.C. Cinergy Health chose to discontinue advertising and sales of limited medical insurance plans until the agency could develop a more consumer-friendly product and gain the support of state departments of insurance relative to its advertising. Cinergy Health is maintaining ongoing dialogue with the Florida Department of Insurance to answer questions related to operations which Cinergy believes had been previously resolved through self-imposed improvements. Complaints about Cinergy Health are related to delayed payment of claims. As an agency, Cinergy Health is not involved in the processing or adjudication of claims. Cinergy Health actually bends over backwards to facilitate the claims process by putting members and providers in contact with the insurance company's claims processing companies, and following-up with the claims processing companies on the members' and providers' behalf to make the claims process as smooth as possible. The operations of the claims processing companies used by the insurance company are beyond Cinergy Health's control. As many of the BBB complaints were related to claims issues, Cinergy Health met with the BBB last week to explain those issues and to inform the BBB that Cinergy Health has re-aligned itself with new business partners to avoid such issues in the future. Cinergy Health is committed to convincing the BBB that it is worthy of accreditation and expects to accomplish that objective. One article states, ' Arkansas insurance regulators temporarily suspended Cinergy's license' yet failed to mention that Arkansas rescinded their decision (see http://insurance.arkansas.gov/LEGAL%20DATASERVICES/orders.htm ). The article did not fully or accurately examine the circumstances surrounding Arkansas' actions, which were unrelated to Cinergy Health's television advertising. We are quite concerned about these most recent statements and remain committed to providing all of our consumers with quality, affordable health insurance. During these turbulent times for American healthcare, we remain committed to working with providers, consumers and the government to find effective solutions for American consumers."
