NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Mobile-savvy traders lucky enough to score an iPad this past weekend can access market data and make trades through applications offered by several discount brokers including E*Trade Financial (ETFC), TD Ameritrade(AMTD) and Fidelity Investments.

In a press release issued before Tuesday's opening bell, E*Trade trumpeted the availability of its E*Trade Mobile Pro application to users of Apple's (AAPL) latest technology invention, which began shipping over the weekend.

"With more and more consumers turning to mobile devices to stay on top of the markets and their money, E*Trade is focus on providing a smooth, secure mobile environment for customers to access their accounts and interact with the markets," E*Trade Securities President Michael Curcio said in a statement.

E*Trade's Mobile Pro is available free through Apple's App Store and its features include real-time streaming stock and options quotes; the ability to trade stocks during regular market and extended hours sessions; access to E*Trade brokerage and bank accounts, live streaming of CNBC and other features.

TD Ameritrade currently offers existing active traders on its main platform access to the iStockManager application, which is compatible with the three devices.

However, a TD Ameritrade spokesman told TheStreet the company is developing a iPad-compatible application for its thinkorswim customers that it expects to launch in the near future.

Fidelity is also expanding its mobile offerings, which the Boston-based firm has been providing for more than a decade, to include applications for the iPad.

In February Fidelity launched its application for iPhone and iPod Touch users to place stock, option, exchange-traded funds or mutual fund trades via a "simplified and intuitive trade ticket" enabled by Apple's Multi-touch user interface, which also works on the new iPad.

The application is free and offers customers access to equity trades at Fidelity's lowered commission rate of $7.95 per trade as well as free commission on trading in 25 iShares ETFs, it says.

Apple's latest tablet device was introduced with much fanfare in January and officially launched over the Easter holiday weekend.
