2010 Michigan Downtown Conference Partners Release A Call For Presentations

LANSING, Mich., April 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Michigan Downtown Conference Partners announced today they are seeking proposals for presentations at this year's conference, being held September 13-14 at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Bay City.

This year's theme, " Michigan's Downtowns: Yes, We're Open!" is an outgrowth of the nationally acclaimed Shop Main Street video produced by the Michigan Main Street Center @ MSHDA in 2009. In keeping with the theme, the Conference's Speaker's Committee is seeking exceptional, individual or panel presentations that specifically relate to current and emerging issues, best practices, and challenges that are facing downtowns. The Committee encourages presentations on topics that will benefit Michigan's downtowns.

The deadline to submit a presentation proposal is April 16. Call for Presentations (CFP) details and information is available at www.michigandowntownconference.org. Click on the 2010 Downtown Conference CFP link. Any questions, please contact Dace Koenigsknecht at koenigsknechtd1@michigan.gov.

The Michigan Downtown Conference Partners include the Michigan Downtown Association (MDA), the Michigan Municipal League (MML), Michigan Main Street Center @ MSHDA, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, Main Street Oakland County and the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO).

The Michigan Downtown Conference is an annual conference to help community leaders create successful strategies and case studies to revitalize their downtowns.
