SciClone, IncrediMail: Midday Volume Plays

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Several stocks trading near $5 were moving on above-average volume during Thursday's session.

IncrediMail (MAIL) dropped by $1.73, or 21.6%, to $6.28 after the Internet media company posted a fourth-quarter profit of 21 cents a share, which was down sharply from a year-ago profit of 47 cents a share. IncrediMail said that while it expects the first quarter to be in line with our current performance, it has limited visibility beyond that as Google (GOOG) "is considering implementing market-wide policy changes affecting the assets we are heavily dependent on for our search generated revenues." Volume topped 841,000 shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 63,000, according to the Nasdaq.

PFSWeb (PFSW) slumped by 34 cents, or 11.4%, to $2.65 after the eCommerce solutions provider posted a fourth-quarter loss of 8 cents a share, swinging from a year-ago profit of 4 cents a share. Revenue dropped 15% from a year ago to $95.6 million. Volume topped 199,000 shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 365,000.

SciClone Pharmaceuticals (SCLN) jumped by 37 cents, or 10%, to $4.06 after the biopharmaceutical company announced the European approval of ondansetron RapidFilm, which is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Volume topped 1.62 million shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 487,000.

NIVS IntelliMedia (NIV) surged by 93 cents, or 30.8%, to $3.95 after the audio and video products maker posted a fourth-quarter profit of 28 cents a share, rising sharply from a year-ago profit of 4 cents a share. Revenue jumped 47% to $62.7 million. Volume topped 2.66 million shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 241,000, according to Yahoo! Finance.
