. In addition, he was the Dean of Student Programs at
California State University, Northridge
. He was a member of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and a member of the Executive Committee of the Commission. He is also involved in numerous non-profit and community organizations. Mr. Austin earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the
University of Mississippi
