Wizzard Media Podcast App Ranks In Top Paid Apps In 62 Countries Worldwide

Wizzard Media (NYSE Amex: WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network, today announced a new milestone for its Wizzard Media Podcast App having reached the Top 300 Paid Apps in over 60 countries around the world. From Australia to Croatia, El Salvador to Finland, Slovenia to Vietnam, the results are in and the world loves Wizzard’s podcast App.

Of the 77 different international iTunes stores in which Wizzard’s App is available for sale, the Wizzard Media Podcast App was ranked in the Top 300 of its respective category in 62 countries (80%) during the week of February 8 ^th, 2010.

“With over 156,000 Apps now in the App Store, successful App sales is as much about marketing and PR as it is about the App itself,” says Laurie Sims, President of Wizzard Media. “Having penetrated the Top 300 Paid Apps in 80% of the stores in which the App is available is a testament to our marketing team, participating podcasters and their loyal audiences as well as the ongoing, worldwide iPod and iPhone revolution.”

Countries with the most Wizzard Apps in their respective category Top 300 lists include: United States, South Africa, Mexico, Norway, Finland and United Kingdom.

In analyzing the data provided by ustwo’s Position App, some interesting App purchasing trends were identified. Storynory, a series of audio stories for children, was most popular in Asia with it reaching the Top 300 in Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia in the Books category.

Yogamazing seems to have caught on in Central and South America where it is ranked in the Top 300 Paid Apps in the Healthcare & Fitness category in both Colombia and Venezuela.

Travel in 10, currently broadcasting from the Olympics, is a popular video Travel podcast App in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. And the people of El Salvador, in their ongoing quest for clean drinking water, have propelled Microbe World to a Top 300 Paid App in the Medical category.
