Inspire Dry Eye Drug Fails Key Test: BioBuzz
DURHAM, N.C. (TheStreet) -- Inspire Pharmaceuticals(ISPH) said Thursday its experimental drug Prolacria for dry eye disease failed to meet the primary or secondary goals of a phase III study.
"We have provided the top-line results from this trial to our partner Allergan(AGN) and we will be conducting a thorough review of the program before determining next steps, if any," said Inspire CEO Christy Shaffer, in a statement. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has twice turned down Inspire's previous efforts at getting Prolacria approved.
