Hot Gadgets, Food at Electronics Show

Stock quotes in this article:MSFT, MGM, WYNN

LAS VEGAS (TheStreet) -- No one is sure which hot new item will be at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held Jan. 7 to 10. But with more than 2,500 exhibitors in 30 categories, one thing is for sure: It will take all your energy to set a game plan.

With so much to do and so little time, where does one start? The newly launched Living in Digital Times Spotlight? Or listening to speakers including Steve Ballmer of Microsoft(MSFT), Alan Mulally of Ford(F) and Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo of Nokia(NOK)? Or taking part in the discussions "The Twitter Revolution" and "Staying Competitive in Turbulent Times"?

Wazuzu, at Encore, is one of the two best Asian restuarants in Las Vegas. The other is Wing Lei.

Get business dining figured out first. That's where TravelsinTaste comes in. We've compiled the best list for quick, business or fine dining to suit even the most busy of CEOs.

For a quick, yet hearty, breakfast, three places top the list: Hash House a Go Go at the Imperial Palace, with its oversized flapjacks, farm scrambles and waffles. For something in the same complex as the exhibition hall, try Thomas Keller's Bouchon at the Venetian. Across the street lies a simply elegant restaurant for a quiet business breakfast: Tableau at the Wynn(WYNN), with its wild blueberry buttermilk pancakes or white chocolate and orange bread French toast.

Depending on timing, lunch may be out of the question, but the requisite cup of coffee is a must. For that, stop by FIRST Food & Bar at the Palazzo, where you can grab a quick caramel latte macchiato on the way to the convention hall. If you have time to sit, FIRST has wireless service, so you can plug in your laptop, get on the phone, conduct your business, get a bite and be back in the thick of electronics before you know it. If you'd prefer to take your business further away from the convention hall, and are hankering for old-line Italian, try Rao's for lunch. Executive chef Carla Pellegrino, who won the Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay, is happy to prepare her pizza in the park menu and combine them with some of Rao's signature wines. If you choose not to leave the show, you can use Bistro CES, enabling you to reserve tables. Lunch, provided by Aramark, includes such staples as Caesar salad and stuffed chicken breast.
