Winners of the Day
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Several stocks trading near $5 were poised to move on above-average volume during Monday's session.
Thomson (TMS) surged by 15 cents, or 12.4%, to $1.36 in the premarket session after the company's restructuring plan is approved by the Suppliers' committee and the Lenders' committee. The three-month average daily volume for Thomson is 73,000 shares, according to Yahoo! Finance. Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) gained 4 cents, or 4.2%, to 98 cents in the premarket session after the company increased its estimate of fourth-quarter revenue to a range of $98 million to $102 million, compared with its prior estimate of $90 million to $94 million. The 50-day average daily volume for Tower is 375,000, according to the Nasdaq. AuthenTec (AUTH) jumped by 22 cents, or 10.1%, to $2.39 in the premarket session after the company offered strong guidance for the fourth quarter. AuthenTec said it now expects revenue of $8.2 million to $8.4 million, up from its previous range of $7.5 million to $8 million and better than the Thomson Reuters consensus of $7.8 million. The three-month average daily volume for AuthenTec is 109,000 shares. BioCryst Pharmaceuticals (BCRX) gained 24 cents, or 4.1%, to $6.15 in the premarket session after Morgan Stanley initiated coverage of the stock with an equal-weight rating.
