PORTLAND, Ore. (Clean Edge) -- Clean Edge and NASDAQ's three benchmark clean-tech stock indexes ended the week very near where they started it.
CELS
The index tracks U.S.-listed clean-energy companies and is divided into four categories: advanced materials; energy intelligence; energy storage and conversion; and renewable electricity generation and renewable fuels. In the advanced materials sector, three of the five component companies were in positive territory. Energy intelligence, the most populated sector of the index, saw four of its 20 components gain ground. Energy storage and conversion had six components in the red and four gaining. For renewable electricity and fuels, eleven components were up, with the remaining four losing ground. CELS' best performer for the week was wind energy product and service provider Broadwind Energy (BWEN Quote), gaining 26.80%. Rounding out the top five CELS performers were solar wafer manufacturer LDK Solar (LDK Quote), up 25.20% in its second consecutive week of double-digit gains; Chinese solar PV manufacturer Solarfun Power (SOLF Quote), rising 18.78%; solar cell and module maker Canadian Solar (CSIQ), gaining 13.88%; and Chinese solar module maker Trina Solar (TSL Quote) up 11.99%.- Loading Comments...
