NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The weak dollar and a strong existing-home sales report sent the markets off to a roaring start Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 132.79, or 1.29%, to 10,450.95, while the S&P 500 added 14.86, or 1.36%, to 1,106.24. The Nasdaq rose 29.97, or 1.40%, to 2,176.01. Pete Najarian said on CNBC's "Fast Money" TV show that today's rally followed a predictable pattern of "Mutual Fund Mondays" that has seen capital move into the markets on the first day of the week.
