Nokia to Cut 330 R&D Personnel

ESPOO, Finland (TheStreet) -- Nokia(NOK Quote) said it plans to eliminate about 330 employees in its research and development operations in Finland and Denmark.
The world's biggest mobile phone company said the total number of job cuts represents about 2% of its global R&D personnel. "Nokia plans to align its research and development (R&D) operations in Finland and Denmark to be in line with the company's focused portfolio of future products," the company said in a statement Friday. Nokia said it plans to cut up to 230 employees at its Oulu site in Finland and about 100 employees at its site in s Copenhagen site. -- Reported by Joseph Woelfel in New York .
