Williams-Sonoma Ups Outlook

SAN FRANCISCO (TheStreet) -- Williams-Sonoma(WSM Quote) returned to a profit in its third quarter and upped its full-year outlook.
During the quarter, the company earned $7.3 million, or 7 cents a share, compared with a loss of $11 million, or 10 cents, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, Williams-Sonoma actually earned 16 cents a share, easily topping Wall Street's consensus of 5 cents a share. Revenue slipped 3% to $729 million from $752 million, while same-store sales increased 1.7%. Management now expects full-year earnings in the range of 25 cents to 34 cents a share, from prior forecast of 19 cents to 31 cents a share.
