Vivendi Says No Decision on NBCU Yet
BARCELONA (TheStreet) -- Vivendi's chief financial officer said the French media and telecom company wants to exit NBC Universal but a decision hasn't been made for this year, a report says.
Phillipe Capron, in a conference Thursday, called the situation "complex," Dow Jones Newswires reports. On Wednesday, it was reported that Vivendi had yet to reach an agreement with General Electric (GE Quote) over the sale of its 20% stake in NBC Universal. The talks are one of the last hurdles to a joint venture between GE and Comcast(CMCSA Quote), in which the cable operator would get a majority stake in NBC Universal, the Wall Street Journal reported. Vivendi is reportedly seeking a higher price for its stake. The GE, Comcast deal hinges on Vivendi selling its stake. -- Reported by Joseph Woelfel in New York .
