The 1:21 p.m. Monday tremor southeast of the community of Trona is the latest of a number of small earthquakes that have occurred around Southern California over two days. The USGS says the epicenter was 117 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. Earlier Monday, a magnitude-3.6 quake occurred south of Anza in the vicinity of the Riverside-San Diego County line, about 30 miles southwest of Palm Springs.
