BAE Signs $42M Armor Contract With US Army

 

NEW YORK (AP) — Defense contractor BAE Systems said Monday it received a $42 million contract to produce armor kits for the U.S. Army.

The "L-ROD" armor kits are designed to protect soldiers in ground vehicles from rocket-propelled grenade attacks, the London-based company said.

The kits are currently built on an automated production line in Austin, Texas.
