1 Killed As Plane Crashes In Suburb East Of LA
SAN GABRIEL, Calif. (AP) One person was killed when a small plane crashed in the heavily populated suburb of San Gabriel northeast of Los Angeles.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza crashed and caught fire shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday, killing the only person on board. The plane departed from Brackett Field in La Verne about 25 miles east of the crash site and was on a short flight to Van Nuys. There are no reports of injuries to anyone on the ground and no immediate word of what caused the crash.
