Eurozone Makes Way Out of Recession

LONDON (TheStreet) -- The eurozone has come out of recession after posting gross domestic product growth of 0.4% in the third quarter.

The 16-nation eurozone joins the United States and Japan as countries that have officially ended their recessions.

The EU as a whole, the EU27, which also include non-euro countries like Great Britain and Sweden, saw GDP rise 0.2% in the third quarter, according to Eurostat, the E.U.'s statistics agency.

However, results released Friday revealed that growth in Germany, at 0.7%, and France, at 0.3%, fell short of estimates, while Spain remains in recession.
