Vt. Emergency Board To Get State Revenue Forecast

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont state officials are set to get an update on state finances.

The state Emergency Board, made up of legislative money committee chairs and Gov. Jim Douglas, has set a meeting for 1 p.m. Thursday to hear from consulting economists for the Legislature and administration about what state revenues are expected to do in the coming months.

The board usually meets twice a year to get the revenue forecast, but has been meeting quarterly recently because of the current economic turmoil.

Recent forecasts have accurately predicted big declines in state revenue.
