South Carolina Tourism Officials Get 2010 Outlook

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Those who work in tourism along South Carolina's Grand Strand are getting glimpse at what 2010 has in store for travel.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce holds its annual tourism marketing summit on Wednesday.

The director of marketing research for the U.S. Travel Association will provide a summary of travel projections for the coming year.

A recent association study found almost two-thirds of American adults planned to travel this fall, up slightly from a year ago.

During the summit, the chamber is also updating the industry on its marketing efforts. South Carolina's Grand Strand is the heart of the state's $16 billion tourism industry.
