MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Cummins Power Generation Inc. said it will raise the price of its commercial power generator sets, which are used in factories and office buildings, starting Jan. 1, while freezing the prices of other products.

The unit of Cummins Inc. cited current industry dynamics, climbing commodity prices and market conditions for the price hike of between 1.5 percent and 2 percent on generator sets between 6 kilowatts and 2,500 kilowatts.

The company said prices will remain flat for its transfer switches and paralleling systems, which are also used in commercial and industrial environments.

The price of its consumer generator sets will stay flat, the company said, citing "consumer industry dynamics" and market conditions. Cummins Onan generator sets are employed in RV, marine, residential, and a wide variety of mobile commercial and portable applications.
