Patterson rose $.25 or 1.0 percent, to $26.12.

PerkinElmer rose $.47 or 2.5 percent, to $19.41.

Thermo Fisher rose $.51 or 1.1 percent, to $45.39.

Varian Medical rose $1.11 or 2.6 percent, to $44.60.

Waters rose $1.87 or 3.2 percent, to $61.10.
