Exxon Profit Tumbles, Shares Fall
Elsewhere on Thursday, Royal Dutch Shell(RDS.A) announced that its own earnings dropped 62% in the third-quarter, while adding that a quick recovery is not to be expected. American depositary receipts for Europe's biggest oil operation were down 1.2% in the morning.
ConocoPhillips(COP), Hess(HES) and BP(BP), which each reported profit slides earlier in week, were gaining 2.2%, 2.6% and 2.5%, respectively.
