Contractor Moving Test Site From Arizona To Utah

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) — Defense contractor Northrop Grumman says it's relocating the testing grounds for its unmanned aerial systems from Cochise County to an airfield in Utah.

The Army awarded the company a $6.2 million contract to move the Hunter unmanned aerial systems training and engineering test facilities from the Cochise College Flight Line in Douglas to the Rapid Integration and Acceptance Center at the Michael Army Airfield in Dugway, Utah.

Northrop Grumman employs 780 people in Cochise County and did not specify a time frame for the move.

The Cochise College Flight Line has been getting about $1,000 a month from the defense contractor for the use of facilities.
