NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Several small-cap stocks were moving on above-average volume during Tuesday's session.
Microvision (MVIS) jumped by 44 cents, or 11.1%, to $4.42 after the company said it received an order for its SHOWWX laser-based pico projector from a mobile phone operator. Microvision said the initial quantities of SHOWWX are expected to be deployed within the next month in Europe and at that time more details are expected to be provided by the mobile carrier. Volume topped 1.8 million shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 848,000, according to the Nasdaq. Hiland Holdings (HPGP) surged by 76 cents, or 31.7%, to $3.16 after the company and Hiland Partners (HLND) said they were considering a proposal to increase the merger consideration payable to both companies' shareholders. The proposal would raise the payment to Hiland Partners holders to $10 per common unit from $7.50, and to Hiland Holdings holders to $3.20 from $2.40. Volume topped 298,000 shares, compared to the three-month average daily volume of 32,000, according to Yahoo! Finance. Amcore Financial (AMFI) fell by 46 cents, or 36.8%, to 79 cents after the company posted another net loss for the third quarter. Amcore said the consolidated level is "significantly undercapitalized," which is the result of the losses for the quarter and technical limitations that now restrict the inclusion of certain components in regulatory capital. As a result, the company said it is in a technical default on a credit line from JPMorgan Chase (JPM). Volume topped 683,000 shares, compared to the 50-day average daily volume of 305,000, according to the Nasdaq.TheStreet Premium Services
