MSC Promotes Jones To Executive Vice President

MELVILLE, N.Y. (AP) MSC Industrial Direct Co., which distributes metalworking and maintenance supplies to industrial customers, said Tuesday it promoted Douglas Jones to executive vice president of global supply chain operations.
Jones, 45, has been MSC's senior vice president of supply chain management since April 2008. Before that role, he was senior vice president of logistics. He joined MSC in 2001. In his new role, Jones will be responsible for product management and global sourcing on top of his existing responsibilities. Shares of MSC closed Tuesday at $45.32 after falling 74 cents.
