Stryker Trims Full-year Profit Outlook

KALAMAZOO (AP) — Implant maker Stryker Corp. reduced its full-year earnings forecast on Tuesday, saying it now expects between $2.90 and $3 per share, excluding one-time items.

Previously, the company expected $3.12 to $3.22 per share. The new outlook still reflects an increase of 2 percent to 6 percent over 2008 results.

Analyst surveyed by Thomson Reuters, whose estimates typically exclude one-time items, expect $2.94 per share, on average.

The company said Tuesday its third-quarter earnings fell 16 percent due to restructuring charges.

Shares rose $1.47, or 3.2 percent, to $46.75 in after hours trading.
