Early Movers: Pump Up the Volume

Rite Aid (RAD) slipped by 2 cents, or 1.3%, to $1.56 in the premarket session after the company said it will offer $250 million aggregate principal amount of senior secured notes due 2019 as part of a comprehensive plan to refinance its accounts receivable securitization facilities. Also included in the refinancing is an increase in borrowing under Rite Aid's existing $525 million senior secured term loan due June 2015 by $125 million to $650 million. The three-month average daily volume for Rite Aid is 12.7 million, according to Yahoo! Finance.

TGC Industries (TGE) rose by 6 cents, or 1.3%, to $4.66 in the premarket session after the company said it has acquired Eagle Canada, a provider of seismic data and surveying services to the Canadian energy industry based, in a deal worth $10.3 million, which was paid from existing cash. The three-month average daily volume for TGC is 82,000, according to Yahoo! Finance.

The Princeton Review (REVU) was unchanged at $4.51 in the premarket session after the company said it will purchase Penn Foster Education Group for $170 million in cash. The three-month average daily volume for Princeton Review is 57,000, according to Yahoo! Finance.
