LHC Group Buys Baton Rouge Nursing Service Company

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Home health provider LHC Group Inc. said Thursday it will buy home nursing services company Feliciana Home Health, which serves the Baton Rouge area.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed. LHC said it expects the sale to close Nov. 1, and it will not have a significant effect on the company's profit in 2009. It said Feliciana has about $12 million in annual revenue.

LHC said the deal expands its presence in the most rapidly growing part of Louisiana.

In morning trading, LHC stock gave up 26 cents to $30.96.
