Mylan Gets FDA Approval For Generic Topamax
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Generic drugmaker Mylan Inc. said Thursday it received regulatory approval for its version of Johnson & Johnson's epilepsy drug Topamax, and began shipping the product.
The Food and Drug Administration cleared Mylan's 15 milligram and 25 milligram topiramate sprinkle capsules. The company said U.S. sales of the capsules totaled $58 million over the year ending June 30. The key patents on Topamax expired in March, and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. also markets a generic version of the drug. Mylan shares fell 3 cents to $16.72 in morning trading.- Loading Comments...
