Suncor Says Repairs Underway After Refinery Fire
NEW YORK (AP) Suncor Energy Inc. said late Monday that repairs are underway at a refinery unit in western Canada that caught fire overnight during maintenance work at the plant.
Suncor called the fire "minor" and said there were no injuries or environmental damage. The company didn't say how long repairs would take, only that a schedule for the work was being prepared. The investigation into the cause of the fire had begun, Suncor said. The fire occured in one of the company's two oil-sands upgraders near Fort McMurray, Alberta. U.S.-traded shares of Calgary, Alberta-based Suncor rose $1.28, or 3.6 percent, to close earlier at $37.25.- Loading Comments...
