Emerson Electric Names Galvin As Vice Chairman

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Emerson Electric Co. said Monday Chief Financial Officer Walter Galvin will be vice chairman of the company.

Galvin, 62, has served as senior executive vice president since 2004, and was named CFO in 1993. He also has been a management member of Emerson's board of directors since 2000.

He joined Emerson in 1973 and served as the controller at the Ridge Tool subsidiary.

Before joining Emerson, Galvin spent three years as a lieutenant in the Navy with duties as an operations officer before his discharge in 1971.

Galvin serves on the boards of Ameren Corp. and F.M. Global Insurance Co. He is also a board member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers, which are both based in Washington.
