Dendreon Names Clark, Granadillo To Board

SEATTLE (AP) — Biotechnology company Dendreon Corp. said Monday it elected Ian Clark and Pedro Granadillo to the board of directors.

Clark heads global product strategy and is the chief marketing officer at Roche's pharmaceutical division. Beginning in January, he will be CEO of Genentech, which is now a unit of Roche.

Granadillo, who is retired, most recently worked as senior vice president of global manufacturing and human resources at drug maker Eli Lilly & Co.

Dendreon hopes to get Food and Drug Administration approval to launch its prostate cancer drug Provenge next year.

The company's shares rose $1.11, or 4 percent, to $28.59 in afternoon trading.
