FirstEnergy Appoints Executive For Subsidiary

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Power company FirstEnergy Corp. said Monday it named Tony Banks as vice president of product and business development for FirstEnergy Solutions, its subsidiary that sells electricity to industrial customers in the Midwest and mid-Atlantic.

Banks had been vice president of business development, performance and management.

FirstEnergy also said it promoted Gary Benz to director of business development from associate general counsel.

John Judge, who is director of integrated business planning, has been promoted to director of supply chain and Kelley Mendenhall, who became assistant treasurer earlier this year, will assume responsibility for integrated business planning in addition to her current duties.

The moves are effective Monday.

Akron-based FirstEnergy has seven electric utility companies that serve 4.5 million customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
