NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Here's what Jim Cramer had to say about some of the stocks that callers offered up during the "Mad Money Lightning Round" Friday evening.

Verizon (VZ Quote): "Verizon pays a great yield while you're waiting for more growth. It may not be exciting, but it's making us money."

American Electric Power (AEP Quote): "This has a 5% yield, but let's be careful. A company with a large coal base is not going to be in favor for long."

Royal Bank (RBS Quote): "There are so many others that I like in this group. I'm not going with RBS."

Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM Quote): "Gold's going higher. This is the cheapest gold company out there; I can't say to sell it."

MEMC Electronics (WFR Quote): "No, no, no. This company can't get its act together and keeps cutting its numbers. You stay away."

BP (BP Quote): "I've been a fan of Chevron (CVX Quote) for my charitable trust, but I also like BP with that 6% yield. I'd be a buyer right here, right now."

Phoenix Companies (PNX Quote): "Um, no. Too risky. I'd rather see you in AFLAC (AFL Quote) or MetLife (MET Quote) if you want that kind of stock. "

Hecla Mining (HL Quote): "I don't like this one, or any of the silver stocks. There's no reason to own them. "
