Cramer's 'Mad Money' Follow-Up: Oct. 7

Every night on "Mad Money," Jim Cramer offers market commentary and general investment advice, and he makes calls on specific stocks, both of his own choosing and in response to viewer requests. He relies on his many years of experience and strong track record, and he takes full responsibility for his calls.

"I never shirk from admitting my mistakes; instead, I dwell on them to learn from them. I change my mind, I take losses, I own up to them," Cramer has said.

Here we track some of his calls from the previous episode of "Mad Money" and find out, at least in the very short term, how the stocks are performing. Keep in mind that Cramer might not have been recommending that viewers take immediate action on a stock. And, of course, it's up to the individual investor to do his or her own homework.

That said, here's how some of the stocks that Cramer talked about on Tuesday's "Mad Money" show fared today.

Tessera Technologies(TSRA Quote): Cramer spoke with Tessera President and CEO Hank Nothhaft, who highlighted products such as a camera lens system and a nonfan cooling system. Cramer reiterated his May 26 recommendation of the stock.

On Wednesday, Tessera added $1.38, or 4.9%, to close at $29.33.

Visa(V Quote): Cramer, who owns the stock for his Action Alerts PLUS charitable trust, said Visa is part of a long-term secular growth trend with double the market share of its nearest competitor. Visa trades at 20 times earnings but has a 20% long-term growth rate, said Cramer.

On Wednesday, Visa closed up $2.60, or 3.8%, at $70.86.

Omnova Solutions(OMN Quote): Cramer said Omnova is very speculative but has potential, gaining new clients along with introducing new products. He recommended the stock on a pullback as speculative play. He also recommended that current owners take some profits.
