URS In Alliance For FEMA Pact Worth Up To $375M

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — URS Corp., an engineering and construction company, said Tuesday that it has received in an alliance with another company, a five-year emergency management contract worth up to $375 million.

The San Francisco-based company said its work with PBS&J Corp., an engineering, architecture, planning and construction company, received the contract from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help provide temporary housing and other services for disaster survivors.

The joint venture will remove, install, maintain and deactivate temporary mobile housing units and build temporary housing. Projects also could include food preparation and other life support functions as requested by FEMA.

URS is the managing partner.

Shares of URS rose 87 cents, or 2 percent, to $42.95 in afternoon trading.
