Adobe Systems Gets Early Nod For Omniture Takeover
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Regulators granted Adobe Systems Inc. an early end to the legal waiting period in its acquisition of software maker Omniture Inc., the company said Tuesday.
The waiting period on acquisitions is required by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. Adobe opened its offer for Omniture on Sept. 24, paying $21.50 per share in an all-cash deal valued at $1.8 billion. The offer deadline for shareholders is Oct. 22. Omniture, based in Orem, Utah, makes online business optimization software, which it sells as an on-demand subscription service. Adobe, based in San Jose, Calif., focuses on developing technology to enhance design and the functionality of Internet sites.
