Black Box Buys Quanta Systems

Communications equipment company Black Box Corp. said Monday that it bought privately held Quanta Systems LLC.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Black Box bought Gaithersburg, Md.-based Quanta from CompuDyne Corp., which is a portfolio company of private equity fund The Gores Group.

Quanta's annual revenue is about $12 million, Black Box said. The company expects the purchase to help it in the federal market.

Black Box shares rose 8 cents to $24.43.
